Bainbridge International Transprt Corp. was started in 1991 by Marilyn Sargent as a one-woman, international freight forwarding business located on Bainbridge Island, Washington.
At the time Bainbridge was started, it was one of the few women-owned businesses handling international military household goods shipments. The company’s business grew as did Marilyn’s family and the business quickly moved from her home into an office building in Winslow, Washington. More employees were added to handle the volume of business as it continue to expand.
In the 1990’s Marilyn also started a moving company in Hawaii that grew exponentially and demanded more of her time. Bainbridge was sold to Sara Stern, the present day owner, in 2012 and continues to this day to operate in both the domestic and international freight forwarding and household goods moving business industries.
